Job Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper role located in Youngstown, OH. Bookkeeper must have solid communication, technology, and analytical skills. Candidates should possess some knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and tax principles. The bookkeeper will support the Accounting team by performing day-to-day Accounting, Tax and Technology tasks, along with some administrative responsibilities. Position Details:General Accounting and Tax Knowledge:Ability to understand general accounting and tax information requiredPerforms monthly financial close procedures, including quarterly andor year endPosts journal entries and adjustments, as necessaryAssist with weekly account payables processAssist with year-end 1099 and 1096 preparation filingAnnual tax and information filings for various entitiesAssist with review of tax noticesInvestments:Recordkeeping & reconciliation of investment activity, bank and custodial accountsPrepare Monthly Consolidated Cash and Investment ReportInternal Controls - Knowledge and Documentation:Follow internal control procedures supporting the closing function including maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of reconciliations, as necessaryFamily Office Knowledge:Basic knowledge of Family Office a plusAdministrative:Bank runs. Labels for files, certified receipts, and postage for mailingsFiling - payables, audit files, other. Assist with annual fundraiser, process credit card transactionsBack-up for printing checks, mail distribution, answering phones, etc. Skills and Attributes:AcademicTechnical Qualifications:An associate's degree in accounting or finance a plus but not requiredKnowledge and Experience:Knowledge of financial spreadsheets and accounting requiredComputer Skills:Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, and Word; strong analytical skills required.
