Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

 POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this salaried, exempt CTRS position is to promote a therapeutic environment for all residents by assessing recreational preferences, creating and implementing innovative group and individualized recreation programming, maintaining timely documentation, and enhancing quality of life through individualized person-centered interventions. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Understands and promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures.To plan and lead group and individual activitiesMaintain and record quarterly and annual progress reportsKeep daily statisticsComplete initial resident assessmentAssist in decorating of facility for holidays and eventsAssist in the selection, planning and implementation of special eventsMaintain supplies in an orderly and safe mannerAssist in selection and ordering of suppliesAttend plan of care and physiatry meetingsAttend in service training sessionsPerform any duties relevant to the function of the departmentMaintain flexible work schedule to assist in needed situations or emergenciesAs assigned by supervisor will act as an instructor for recreation students and provide all necessary supervision/hands on experience in order to complete and fulfill fieldwork assignmentOther related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administratorEducation and License/Certification Requirements:B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation TherapyCertification in Therapeutic Recreation TherapyExperience:One year experienceExperience working with physically and cognitively challenged children preferredSalary Range:$62,400.00/Yr.
