Work Hours per Biweekly Pay Period: 64.00 Shift: Monday - Friday Location: 250 3rd Street NW Winter Haven, FL Position Summary Responsible to the Operations Manager for clinical, operational, and administrative issues. Works as a member of a team committed to the purpose of providing the best patient experience and exceptional health care. Functions include assisting in the care of the orthopedic patients, performing history and physicals, evaluating clinic and hospital patients, rounding on patients in the hospital, performing procedures, first assisting in surgery, dictating notes/H&Ps & discharge summaries, ordering tests and formulation of treatment plans. Must identify opportunities for and contribute to the improvement of quality, safety and cost as well as patient satisfaction. Manages hospital care of orthopedic patients consistent with the standard of care set forth by the supervising orthopedic physician(s). Manages clinic care of patients consistent with the standard of care set forth by the supervising orthopedic physician(s). Performs history and physical exams, develops and implements a plan of care including ordering of labs and imaging studies when indicated. First assists in surgical procedures.Reinforces the plan of care and educates patients and family regarding the diagnosis and treatment plan. Maintains thorough documentation/dictation in a professional and timely manner. Teaches and mentors others (nurses/staff) to continuously increase competence of team. Adheres to HIPPA standards; maintains patient confidentiality.Participates in fracture care clinic.Competencies & Skills Essential:Excellent clinical and evaluation skills, ability to concentrate and be attentive to details.Excellent skills in communication and resolution of conflict. Qualifications & Experience Essential:Master DegreeNonessential:Master DegreeEssential:Completion of an ARC-PA program and eligible for the NCCPA Certification. Nonessential:Master's prepared, B.S. from and ARC-PA school or its equivalent.Other information:Experience Essential: Three to five years of experience in professional/technical role or other work appropriate to the team. Experience Preferred: Specialty experience relevant to department. Certifications Essential: Per department or hospital requirements and relevant policies.Licenses Essential: Florida State Physician Assistant License and NCCPA certification Certifications Preferred: NCCPA Certification
