Civil Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator in the Wilmington, NC area. We are a strong general contractor throughout the Southeast and looking to add to our Civil Division. We have won many awards for culture and quality of work - our reputation is our number 1 asset!What you will be doing:Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of scope of work.Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.Utilize HCSS estimating software to develop a comprehensive project estimate and ability to participate in the management of the estimate.Communicate with vendors in support of quotations.Review plans and specifications and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.Identify, assess, and find ways to mitigate project risks.Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to junior estimating staff.What you need for this position:5+ years of estimating experience and/or related project management training with large highway projects.MUST have a working knowledge of NCDOT standards and specifications.Proficient experience with Bluebeam is required.HCSS Heavy Bid experience and/or related software for pricing work is required.Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision and Life InsuranceHealth Savings Account401(k) with company matchFlexible Spending Accounts (Dependent & Medical Reimbursement)Vacation TimeSick TimeHolidays
