Job Description Responsible for opening and closing the store when management is unavailable, managing all necessary system start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring that both the sales floor and stock room are fully prepared for the business day. Also in charge of managing deliveries through the back door. Handles product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change for cash registers as needed. Strives to create an exceptional customer experience by engaging customers, addressing their needs, and ensuring timely resolutions to any issues that may arise. Customer Experience Actively greets and assists customers and patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns to provide a positive shopping experience. Demonstrates and shares best practices in customer service with the team to ensure everyone is committed to delivering a stellar experience, showcasing professional habits like maintaining eye contact and offering proactive assistance. Operations Holds store keys to open and close the store as needed without management. Assists and guides team members in the warehouse and vendor ordering process, ensuring proper handling of deliveries. Manages register operations, including recording all sales accurately and addressing any discrepancies in pricing or scanning. Supports management in reviewing order exceptions and assists with merchandise logistics, such as returns and inventory management. Contributes to visual merchandising and display strategies, completing product resets and revisions as required. Ensures accurate inventory counts and compliance with the Outdate program. Responsible for basic pricing duties and ensures that pricing signage is clear and effective. May assist with bookkeeping tasks, such as cash reports and ledgers, as required. Ensures the store is clean and orderly, addressing maintenance requests as needed. Follows protocols for food safety and product placement within the store. Maintains working knowledge of store systems and operations. Assists at the pharmacy window when requested. Ensures compliance with local regulations regarding products like alcohol and tobacco. Conducts bag checks for team members at store exit. Complies with all company policies and fosters a respectful team environment. Completes special assignments and any other tasks as directed. Training & Development Participates in training sessions and completes required personal development activities as requested by management. Communication Acts as a communication channel between management and team members, conveying tasks and expectations when management is absent. Reports any disciplinary concerns or customer complaints to management swiftly. Basic Qualifications At least one year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in retail or as a key holder. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of store inventory control is a plus. Open to hiring qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
