Job Overview Join our dynamic pharmacy team as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, where you will play a key role in providing exceptional pharmacy services while working under the direct supervision of our experienced pharmacists. Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies. Utilize pharmacy systems to gather patient and drug information, and accurately process prescriptions. Coach fellow pharmacy technicians and cashiers on operating pharmacy systems and cash registers, if PTCB certified. Deliver excellent customer service by engaging with customers, answering their questions, and resolving issues effectively. Customer Experience Provide friendly and supportive interactions with customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Share customer service best practices with your team, promoting positive interactions and a welcoming environment. Build strong relationships with regular customers, enhancing their experience with our pharmacy services. Operational Duties Support pharmacy operations by reviewing and adhering to the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct. Enter and verify patient and drug information accurately, fill prescriptions, and check for potential medication interactions. Report any prescription errors immediately to the on-duty pharmacist and follow company protocol for quality improvement. Maintain accuracy in cash register transactions and handle customer payments responsibly. Answer pharmacy-related phone calls that do not require pharmacist attention and assist with manual claims processing for third-party prescriptions. Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering and storing pharmaceutical supplies, and adhere to asset protection policies. Support clinical services by collecting and labeling samples from patients and collaborating with healthcare providers. Help maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment by ensuring adequate supplies and overall tidiness. Complete special assignments and additional tasks as assigned by management. Professional Development Stay certified by completing the necessary training to maintain PTCB certification as well as any state-required credentials. Participate in ongoing training and education sessions to stay informed on industry developments and enhance your skills. Qualifications Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is required. Flexibility to work a schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Preferred: Six months of retail experience, particularly in a pharmacy setting. Preferred: Strong math and computer skills, as well as knowledge of inventory control.
