Employment Status: Full-Time (>30 hrs/wk) The Quality Control Supervisor (AGG & HMA) is responsible for supporting Aggregate and HMA QC Technicians. The QC Supervisor will conduct a variety of tests on AGG & HMA products to verify adherence to standards set by PennDOT, NYSDOT, NYS Thruway Authority, City of Buffalo, and other municipal authorities. This position will support NESL under the direction of the Regional QC Manager, focusing on the safety of coworkers, product quality, cost efficiencies, and industry best practices. Essential Functions: • Drive innovation across operations by leveraging data, collaboration, and lean methodologies to enhance product quality, optimize inventory, and achieve sustainable cost reductions-while empowering teams to continuously improve the customer experience • Supervise a small group of QC Technicians, under the guidance the Regional QC Manager. • Complete all necessary documentation/record-keeping requirements for PennDOT, NYSDOT, and NESL. • Assist QC Technicians to ensure that AGG and HMA products are produced to the highest industry standards. This includes collaborating with Plant Superintendents on production and escalating any specification issues to the Regional QC Manager as needed. • Maintain an open line of communication with local, state, and federal materials personnel to stay up to date on changing specifications and regulations. • Communicate with the sales team to understand job specifications both before and during the bidding process. • Ensure that all personnel, equipment, and labs maintain required certifications. • Record results of inspections and report findings of inspections if the required specifications are not met. • Collect, record, and process any material certifications required for products. • Input mix designs and test results into specified QC process management system. • Assist in the hiring of QC personnel. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred. • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Construction Materials Industry. QC experience in AGG, HMA or Concrete is preferred. • Ability to build professional relationships with leaders and external networks. • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Must possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work. • Ability to work independently but as part of a team concept. • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and related database systems. • Valid driver's license and compliant with NESL driving standards.
