NOT INTERESTED IN ANY STAFFING SERVICE - NO CONTACT PLEASE - THIS POSITION DOES NOT PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP THIS POSITION IS FOR A FACILITY START UP OPERATION The quality assurance manager will be responsible for managing and executing the adherence to product quality, product safety and production related issues. This position will have oversite of the QA Leads and Technicians on all shifts. The QA Manager will work closely with the plant manager and sanitation team to ensure cleanliness of the machinery and plant and adherence to HAACP. Responsibilities Oversite of quality management and quality team Manages the day-to-day operations of the department, including production scheduling, work assignments, supervision, counseling, employee safety and adherence to company policies and procedures. Compliance and conformity to HAACP requirements. Collaboration and communication with the sanitation and production team to identify areas of concern and corrective actions. Support of the sanitation department through coordination with the production and warehouse departments to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility. Manage the quality operation, including staffing and training, productivity, development, quality and safety. Align quality and production departments to work effectively and adhere to cleanliness and safety standards. Provide leadership and training opportunities to department leads to plan for future development and company needs. Interfaces and works effectively works cross-functionally with other departments. Ensure employees comply with the established standards and counsel and disciplines as appropriate. Reinforce that GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Security, Food Quality, Safety and Work rules as well as company policies and procedures are being followed. Oversees document review of all Food Safety and Quality Reports. Manages customer audits, 3rd party audits, FDA/UDSA audits. Organic audits and SQF audits with focus on food safety, food quality and pest control programs. Acts as the contact for the plant as it relates to audit corrective actions. Point of contact for consumer complaints. Reviews and performs trend analysis to determine root cause for each consumer complaint. Also, determines when to place product on hold and when to release product from hold. Point person for all product recalls. This position will be the SQF Practitioner and will be responsible for ensuring that employee training is defined and customized training is created. Along with the validation and verification of all other SQF related programs Provide a positive atmosphere that allows mentoring and development of team members. Qualifications 5-8 years’ experience in QA/Food with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with managing direct reports is required. Must have technical understanding of food safety including manufacturing, quality, HACCP, and GMP operations. Must have SQF and PCQI certification. Knowledge of microbiology and formulation of products is preferred. Must have strong ability to apply basic statistical concepts to problem solving and root cause analysis, and ability to manipulate data in spreadsheets. Good written and verbal communication skills are a requirement. Must possess sufficient analytical skills to use laboratory equipment. Education BA/BS degree from an accredited institution
