Summary: We are growing our team and are looking for a motivated individual to assist in design and development of a variety of processes from project start to finish. The selected candidate will support team members in a range of tasks to advance projects in biofuels and other industries. This position presents an excellent opportunity for learning and professional growth.Basic Qualifications:B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or other similar discipline from an accredited university or college5-10 years of experience in Biofuels or Chemical Process industriesPrimary Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Prepare process flow diagrams (PFDs) and heat and material balance calculationsDraw/edit Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)Draw/edit 2D equipment drawingsPerform simulation work utilizing Aspen modelingPreliminary Heat Exchanger DesignPerform detail engineering, including: Hydraulic Calculations Detailed equipment design (vessels, pumps, instrumentation, etc.) Vendor/manufacturer quote and equipment drawings review Communication with vendors/manufacturers Engineering document review Engineering specification creation and reviewOperating procedure creation and reviewAssist Project Manager with design modifications during constructionResolve project technical issues with internal team, vendors, and/or related third partiesProject scope developmentProcess optimizationCompliance with best practices and codes/regulationsTraining/mentoring junior engineersProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and WordRepresent company in person at relevant industry conferences and client/vendor meetingsSkills: Highly detail-oriented and motivated with strong time management abilities. Possesses a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.). Previous experience with AutoCAD is preferred. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. Maintains a strong customer focus and is able to work effectively as part of a team. Experience with the Aspen suite of software (Plus, HYSYS, EDR, etc.) is highly desired.Work Environment: The office is located in Wichita, Kansas, and the majority of work is office-based. A flexible schedule is offered, including some remote work options. Trips to client sites, conferences and client/vendor meetings as needed.
