JOB DESCRIPTIONWhitefish Mountain Resort Winter Sports, Inc. Title: Chief Financial Officer Department: Finance Level: Full Time Regular, Salary FLSA: Exempt Effective Date: January 2026 General Duties: Overall management of the accounting and finance activities of the Company; control and reporting of the finances of the Company; development and management of relationships with banking and financial institutions; provide the Directors and stockholders with timely and accurate financial information. Job Relationships: Reports to: President of Winter Sports, Inc. Departments Supervised: General Accounting and Management Information Systems (MIS) Job Specifications: Advanced degree in accounting, finance, and/or a CPA preferred. Proficiency in 1031 exchanges, partnership accounting, S Corporation accounting and development and construction cost accounting preferred. Five years minimum working in a senior financial management position in a mid-sized company required. Experience in hospitality and/or ski industry preferred. Experience with oversight of MIS. Experience with contract negotiations (lenders, insurance, etc.) Strong written and verbal communication skills required; demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, management, suppliers and governmental agencies. Must be able to prioritize tasks and delegate to others to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Proficient in Microsoft suite. Must be able to anticipate ways that Whitefish Mountain Resort can better meet guest and staff needs and implement solutions. Specific Duties:Establishment and maintenance of relationships with financial institutions Manage the audit process; recommend auditors to the Board Prepare and submit all required financial reports to financial institutions and regulatory agencies Oversee the preparation of the Corporate Tax Returns Prepare the annual operating budgets for the Corporation and Subsidiaries in conjunction with the management team Lead managers and directors in the development of daily revenue, expense and labor budgets Participate in all Corporate Planning Functions for both the resort operations, real estate development, and Big Mountain Water Company. Participate on the Big Mountain Sewer District board of directors. Prepare financial models and projections for all future business activities Analyze operating department margins and gross revenue per visit for all departments; communicate that information to department managers Manage stockholder relations and corporate financial communications, including periodic and annual reports. Manage all corporate lending agreements Develop projections, track and manage cash flow; communicate that information to managers and President of WSI. Prepare monthly summary financial data for Directors; prepare financial information for Board of Directors meetings. Coordinate the preparation of capital budgets; develop a process to monitor and control capital project expenditures; prepare timely reports for management purposes. Assist President and other managers with the negotiation and management of joint venture/partnership agreements Prepare and coordinate the annual liability and property insurance renewals as well support the analysis and decision making for medical and worker's compensation insurance. Assist in resort operations as needed during high volume days, especially during holidays and weekends. Safety & Wellness All team members must be on constant alert for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors. This will involve, but not be limited to, periodic inspections of work and public areas. Follow up notification will be done to correct the condition or practice at the earliest possible opportunity. Work Environment Ability to be seated at a desk and computer workstation for extended periods of 4-8 hours. Requires ability to access the various village resort facilities and experience the resort snowsports activities on a regular basis. Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
