Job Description: Job Title - Ultrasound Technologist Job Type- Full Time/Permanent Pay Range-$ 83000-94000/ Yearly (Based on years of work experience) Location - White Plains, New York Shift-Thursday-Sat; 9p-7a Night Shift Position Summary: Performs routine and some special procedure imaging, diagnostic and medical sonograms. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists Radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Develops/processes films when needed. Adheres to established radiology "standards of care". Obtains appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to hospital wide customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned such as quality assurance. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures. Provides patient care. Responsibilities Include the Following: - Adheres to performance standards, policies, and behaviors, ensuring compliance in all aspects of duties. - Prepares and positions patients accurately for examinations, following specific protocols and documenting details thoroughly. - Takes responsibility for designated areas, producing high-quality technical images as required. - Assists physicians during procedures as necessary, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork. - Performs equipment quality assurance and calibration, and ensures adequate supplies are ordered. - Available for emergency procedures and on-call shifts, including holidays and overtime, to maintain department coverage. - Maintains cleanliness of work areas and promptly reports equipment malfunctions. - Processes films and prints images when necessary, and performs routine office tasks. - Communicates effectively with transport services and ensures patient needs are met promptly. - Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy towards all individuals, upholding hospital behavioral standards. - Educates patients and family members regarding ordered examinations, adapting care based on patient demographics. Education& Experience Requirements: High school Diploma/GED required. Satisfactory completion of a certified ultrasound program or Limited Permit/certificate. (ARDMS eligibility after 1 year from graduation and 1000 clinical hours). Experience preferred. Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain certification. ARDMS is required for ACR accreditation compliance after January 1, 2019.
