Accounts & Billing Specialist Woodfords Family Services is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounts & Billing Specialist to join our growing Finance team! This full-time role plays a vital part in sustaining Woodfords' mission by ensuring accurate, timely billing and strong partnerships with payors, programs, and internal teams. The Accounts & Billing Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in billing across multiple programs and funding sources. Services are primarily billed through MaineCare, with additional billing to commercial insurers, public schools, Child Development Services (CDS), and consumer families. This position will work closely with program staff, third-party payors, and our billing software partners to ensure workflows are efficient, compliant, and responsivehelping secure the services we provide and continue to reach those who need them most. What you'll do: Support the Revenue Manager with day-to-day billing operations Collaborate with agency programs to coordinate and improve billing workflows Review and validate billing data for accuracy, timeliness, and authorization Enter and transmit billing data to appropriate payors Research denied claims and follow up to resolve payment issues Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with payors monthly Assist with audits and maintain up-to-date workflow documentation Provide cross-coverage within the Finance team as needed Enter non-MaineCare billing, invoices, and new hire data into billing systems Opportunity Details: Full-time, 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm $54,000-$62,000 per year - commensurate with experience Hybrid work schedule - eligible upon completion of the introductory period Woodfords offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance; generous paid time off; a 403(b) retirement plan with 5% match; wellness and fitness reimbursement; employer-paid disability and life insurance; EAP and supplemental benefits and eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Qualifications: College degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products specifically Excel and Word Ability to balance a varying workload and prioritize effectively Analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organization and customer service skills Ability to work independently and interact with a team Verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of staff and vendors Authorized to be employed in the United States Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization that's been committed to the support and inclusion of people with special needs and their families in Maine communities for over 55 years!
