Job Description:
Performs professional and administrative work coordinating the acquisition of right-of-way and easement rights for Palm Beach County (PBC) properties and roadway projects. Prepares all required documents; inspects property to be acquired; coordinates and reviews the appraisals used for all acquisitions including the eminent domain process; prepares agenda items for Board of County Commissioners' approval; performs technical land title work; uses the Fund's Automated Title Information Data System (ATIDS); prepares/processes legal documents and other related records; meets and negotiates with property owners or their agents affected by proposed roadway projects to secure the required land for the County; maintains computer and hard copy records pertaining to acquisition, road maintenance, inventory and related items. QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: • A Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate ; minimum of three (3) years of experience in property acquisition/disposition/exchange/conveyance or related title/survey/environmental audit/appraisal reviews, OR • An unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of four (4) years of experience in property acquisition/disposition/exchange/conveyance or related title/survey/environmental audit/appraisal reviews, OR • An Associate 's Degree in Real Estate ; minimum of five (5) years of experience in property acquisition/disposition/exchange/conveyance or related title/survey/environmental audit/appraisal reviews, OR • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of seven (7) years of experience in property acquisition/disposition/exchange/conveyance or related title/survey/environmental audit/appraisal reviews. PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred qualifications include: • Two (2) years of experience researching titles to properties in Palm Beach County, • Experience using the Fund's ATIDS or other e-title research service system (must specify on application), • Licensed as a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate, and • Licensed as a Florida Real Estate Appraiser.
