Job Description:
Payroll Specialist The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing multi-state payrolls. This position is responsible for ensuring that assigned payrolls are processed appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner using UKG. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Processing weekly multi-state/provincial payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal, state, and provincial wage and hour laws. Reviewing and confirming that payroll is properly integrating with benefit information. Reviewing tax inquiries and liaising with UKG Tax to ensure that outstanding inquiries are resolved timely and appropriately. Filling in for other team members as needed for vacation and high-volume work efforts. Consistently striving to maintain knowledge of current payroll laws and participating in continuing education opportunities. Participating in working towards annual team objectives. Following defined standards and reusable approaches within the payroll operational framework. Proactively providing input into defining standards for new or improved existing policies and procedures. Managing effective internal/external relationships and building positive relationships with team members as well as other departments within RREMC Group. Performing other work-related duties as assigned. Ability to analyze information and make deductions based on information. Ability to track and report data as needed. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through to resolve any outstanding issues. Excellent written and verbal communications skills to communicate with all levels of the organization. Strong knowledge of payroll platforms preferable UKG or other HCM payroll platforms. High positive energy to take on continuous and complex business challenges in a fast-paced environment. Persistence to drive to solutions despite obstacles and competing priorities. CPP certified preferred by not required. Strong payroll pay practices, pay regulations, etc. Demonstrative ability to deliver on accountabilities in order to help the business and the team be successful. Track record of high performance. Ability to think through issues and make intelligent decisions. Team player with a great attitude, good customer service orientation, and focused on delivering outstanding results to field and office personnel. Flexible and willing to expand role as needed. Unquestioned personal integrity and ability to maintain confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
