QMA-Full Time Insulin Certified

Job Summary:TheQualified Medication Aide (QMA)withInsulin Certificationis responsible for administering prescribed medications and insulin to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role ensures compliance with state regulations and supports residents health, safety, and dignity in an assisted living environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Administer oral, topical, and rectal medications to residents as prescribed. Administer insulin injections in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Document medication and insulin administration accurately in the Medication Administration Record (MAR). Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications or insulin and report findings to the licensed nurse. Measure and record vital signs as needed. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility. Observe and report changes in residents physical or mental conditions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medication cart and storage areas. Comply with infection control, safety, and privacy regulations. Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the nurse or administrator. Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED. CurrentIndiana QMA certificationInsulin Administration Certificationas required by state law. Current CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required). Minimum 1 year of experience in long-term care or assisted living (preferred). Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented.
