Job SummaryWith oversight, responsible for overseeing all airport facilities and infrastructure maintenance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and safety. Under general direction, this position is responsible for supervising Airport Operations Coordinators and ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the airport in compliance with FAA Part 139, TSA regulations, and airport policies. The role provides direct oversight of daily airside and landside operations, emergency response, airfield inspections, and snow and ice control activities.Serve as the airport's operational representative during assigned shifts, coordinating with internal departments, tenants, contractors, and emergency responders. Requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage complex operational situations in a dynamic airfield environment.Regular, full-time essential services position reports to the Airside Operations Manager and classified as a public safety operational role requiring shift work. Mandatory background screening, ongoing training eligibility, and onsite presence at the airport required.Essential Job FunctionsSupervise and direct Airport Operations Coordinators in the performance of daily operational duties.Ensure compliance with FAA Part 139, Airport Certification Manual (ACM), TSA regulations (49 CFR Part 1542), and Airport Rules and Regulations.Serve as the Airport's operational lead on an assigned shift, ensuring safe and efficient airside and landside operations.Provide Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) response to aircraft emergencies and establish incident command until relieved by mutual aid responders.Oversee and ensure proper execution of the airport snow and ice control plan, including both airside and landside operations.Conduct and oversee required airfield inspections and ensure discrepancies are identified, reported, and corrected in a timely manner. Issue and oversee Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) and ensure accuracy of airfield condition reporting. Ensure accurate dissemination and recording of aviation weather observations (METARs). Coordinate airside and landside construction and maintenance activities to ensure operational safety and minimal disruption. Respond to and coordinate medical emergencies with airport police and mutual aid EMS. Oversee contract service providers and coordinate activities with Airport Administration. Conduct airside and landside inspections to ensure tenants and concessionaire compliance with their respective facility and/or operating agreements in coordination with Airport AdministrationSupport security operations, including compliance with the Airport Security Program (ASP) and issuance of security credentials as needed. Ensure compliance with the Airport Environmental Management System (AEMS). Assist in training, mentoring, and development of operations and maintenance personnel. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with airport tenants, airlines, and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with applicable labor agreements.
