Custodial Technician I

Pay Rate: $19.00 an hour with $2.00 an hour additional shift differential on swing and grave shiftESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESClean areas 30+ feet high (such as ceilings, vents, light fixtures, walls, pool area lights, etc.) and other areas needing ladders over 6-feet or the use of a mechanical liftClean carpets, upholstered areas and hard surface floorsSet-up, repair and perform preventive maintenance on department equipmentInform management of any problems, equipment malfunctions and/or hazardsComplete duties as per standard operating procedures (such as shampooing carpets and upholstery, stripping and waxing floors, burnishing, etc.)Maintain clean working areas (such as storage closets and equipment)KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIESPreferred Knowledge and Certification:High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experiencePrevious janitorial experienceRequired Skills:Accurate and detail-orientedGood verbal and interpersonal communication skillsStrong mechanical aptitudeRequired Abilities:Ability to work fast and efficientlyAbility to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygieneAbility to learn appropriate chemical usage and proper equipment usageAbility to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous mannerAbility to serve both internal and external customersPHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to walk and / or stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hoursMust have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneelMust be able to reach and twist routinelyMust be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinelyMust have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds routinelyMust be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motionsMust be able to climb a ladder and work at high elevations of 30+ feetMust have good eye hand coordinationMust be able to operate foot pedalsWORKING ENVIRONMENTWork is performed throughout the property and may include excessive noise, dust and chemical fumes, flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smokeMust be able to work in cramped, tight quartersMust be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidaysMust handle hazardous materialsOccasionally must deal with angry or hostile individualsMust be willing to clean body fluids when necessaryHigh volume direct public contactEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
