The educational experience provided to our students and their families is rooted in a higher calling from God to honor and celebrate the gifts He has given us.Job SummaryThe Preschool Aide supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, supervising students, and helping with daily routines. The aide fosters a positive learning environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.Job ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support:Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activitiesSupport small group and individual learning as directed by the teacherHelp prepare learning materials and set up classroom centersClassroom Management & Supervision:Supervise children during classroom time, outdoor play, meals, and rest periodsHelp manage behavior using positive guidance and redirection techniquesMonitor the safety and well-being of all students at all timesDaily Routines & Care:Assist with arrival and dismissal proceduresHelp children with personal hygiene (e.g., handwashing, bathroom breaks, clean-up)Serve snacks/meals and help with cleanupMaintain a clean and organized classroomCommunication & Teamwork:Work cooperatively with the lead teacher and other staff membersMaintain respectful communication with children, families, and staffReport any concerns about students' behavior, health, or development to the teacherJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Experience working with young children in a school or daycare setting (preferred)Ability to pass background checks and complete child safety training (e.g., VIRTUS)CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
