Project Manager

Summary A commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data center construction projects primarily in the New York region (with a focus around Rochester). This role is ideal for someone who has managed complex mechanical and electrical projects in mission-critical facilities, including data centers, technology infrastructure, or similar high-demand environments. You will be responsible for project delivery from preconstruction through closeout while managing schedules, budgets, subcontractor coordination, and client communication. Key Responsibilities • Lead project delivery from preconstruction through final turnover for data center builds and related commercial work • Manage project budgets, schedules, contract administration, and subcontractor performance • Oversee document control including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes • Coordinate with owners, engineers, architects, commissioning agents, and field teams • Prepare cost tracking, billing, forecasts, and closeout documentation • Facilitate regular project meetings, status reports, and stakeholder communication • Monitor project performance, anticipate risks, and implement corrective actions • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards for mission-critical construction Qualifications • 5+ years of commercial construction experience as a Project Manager • Proven success managing technically complex projects such as data centers, high-tech facilities, labs, or critical infrastructure • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and risk mitigation • Experience with scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor coordination • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and scopes of work • Excellent communication and leadership skills • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office • Ability to travel to project sites as needed Compensation + Benefits • Competitive salary based on experience • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) retirement plan with match • Paid time off and holidays • Bonus potential based on performance • Technology package (phone, laptop, etc.) • Opportunities for career growth and professional development
