Here is more information: The RN in the PCU provides nursing care using the nursing process in line with hospital standards and unit policies to monitor and evaluate patient functional status. Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support patient discharge with appropriate referrals. Document care process. Apply independent judgment in care planning and decision-making. Provide direct care to patients and interact with internal staff. Care includes multi-system assessments, IV management, medication administration, pain control, wound care, and respiratory support. Assist with procedures like thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, and more. Perform key assessments (e.g., blood glucose, ABGs, stroke scale, nutritional status). Unit: Setting: 30-bed PCU serving Neuro (stroke), Medical, Surgical, and Trauma patients. Average Census: 18 patients. Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3 or 1:4 based on acuity. Job Requirements At least 1 year of experience in acute care, strong Med/Surg experience. ADN or ASN degree. Valid RN License (multi-state or Oklahoma). Certifications: BLS.
