Welding Intern- College

Job Summary: HOLT CAT is looking for a College Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training. The intern's primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation. Essential Functions:Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from leadershipWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsRequires regular and punctual employee attendancePerform maintenanceHelp install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic componentsClean and/or lubricate machinesExamine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioningAdjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power toolsAdjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine componentsPerform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are metPerforms other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learnBasic computer skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsTime management and organizational skillsBasic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructionsEducation and Experience:Currently enrolled in a College or Technical School Welding program Travel:No travel is expected for this positionPhysical Requirements: This role frequently communicates with others, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situationsWork Environment: Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptionsDisclaimer:Please note that the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
