Physician Assistant-Certified (Radiology)

CORE FUNCTIONS Clinical: Assist with pre-procedure patient evaluation and preparation including reviewing pertinent labs and imaging, completing H&Ps, consents, and collaborating with staff to expedite patient careComplete inpatient rounding, inpatient and outpatient consults in collaboration with interventional radiologists, order pertinent labs, imaging, and follow-up, and document plan in medical recordProvide follow-up care including follow-up phone calls, answering patient and family questions and concerns, and coordinate care with other providers to optimize patient care Procedural: Assist with interventional radiology procedures as directed by IR, including, but not limited to:Paracentesis and Thoracentesis under ultrasound guidancePlacement, exchange, and removal of tunneled and non-tunneled catheters including implanted portsLumbar puncture and myelography under fluoroscopic guidanceInjection, exchange, and removal of drainage catheters including abscess drains, gastrostomy tubes, nephrostomy tubes, and cholecystostomy tubesPercutaneous biopsy including thyroid and superficial lymph node under ultrasound guidanceArthrocentesis and joint injection under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidanceAssist with diagnostic GI/GU fluoroscopy proceduresIf you are unfamiliar and/or uncomfortable with these procedures, our team is excited to train you.
