QP Group are looking to speak with experienced water and wastewater field supervision professionals, ideally located in Virginia or North Carolina, to join one of our clients in Virginia Beach for a newly awarded project in the area. Position OverviewThe Senior Superintendent provides overall leadership for field operations on large-scale heavy civil, water/wastewater or environmental construction projects. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all on-site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Projects may include water and wastewater treatment facilities, dams, bridges, transportation infrastructure, and industrial or energy-related construction.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all field operations for complex, multi-disciplinary construction projectsDevelop and execute project work plans, schedules, and site logisticsSupervise and coordinate subcontractors, craft labor, and self-perform crews (civil, mechanical, electrical)Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirementsPartner with Project Managers, Engineers, and Owners to maintain alignment on scope, schedule, and budgetMonitor productivity, costs, and quality; proactively identify and resolve issuesConduct site meetings, progress reviews, and reportingBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and stakeholdersMentor and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field staffDrive project success through proactive communication and problem-solvingQualifications10+ years of experience in heavy civil, water/wastewater, or infrastructure constructionProven experience as a Lead or Senior Superintendent on projects valued at $100M+Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and cost controlExperience with self-perform work (earthwork, concrete, mechanical systems, etc.) preferredDemonstrated leadership in safety and team managementAbility to manage multiple crews and complex site logisticsFamiliarity with alternative delivery methods (Design-Build, CMAR) is a plusStrong communication and leadership skillsEducationBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferredEquivalent field experience will be consideredWork Environment & TravelPrimarily field-based role in Virginia Beach, VARegional travel may be required depending on project assignmentsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (based on experience)Performance-based incentivesComprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, PTO)Vehicle or allowance (if applicable)
