Part-Time Center Associate (3pm/330pm to 730pm)

The Part-Time Center Associate (afternoon shift) delivers a world-class customer experience to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry. The ideal candidate is available to work from 3:00 pm or 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, has strong computer and internet skills, in high school or a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a personable, motivated individual who is willing to learn and makes an effort to continually to learn.RESPONSIBILITIES           Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiriesContinuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadershipTakes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutionsTakes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trendsOperates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach othersMaintains a clean, organized, and safe working environmentPerforms other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS             High school diploma or GED requiredStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe SuitesOutstanding phone skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and mathPrompt, reliable, and responsibleAble to lift 40+ poundsWilling and able to work 10 to 20 hours per week, 2 - 3 days a week, including a weekend day COMPENSATION Starting rate $16.50 plus $1.00 in bonus for every hour worked the initial 120 days. After 120 days, a positive review and excellent attendance, hourly rate increases to $17.50. Team bonus available after 120 days. Other team incentives during the year.
