Job Description: The Binghamton University Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to raise funds that further the purpose and mission of Binghamton University. In addition to raising and administering funds, the Foundation provides bookkeeping services to other entities on campus; processing deposits and disbursements. There are a total of 8 entities for which accounting services are provided. This position is within the Foundation's accounting services department. Responsibilities will include: Banking Complete bank account transfers and wire transfers Prepare cash deposits at the end of the day for bank courier pickup Scan checks and submit deposits to the bank Review and settle credit card payments Void, stop payment and reissue checks Accounts Payable Maintenance of vendor file in accounting software for all databases, including W-9 information and 1099 coding; review of vouchers for supporting documentation, proper use of funds, authorized signatures, etc. Processing of student loan requests Review of Foundation and Alumni credit card expense reports Maintenance of outstanding check notification, voids and reissues Providing purchase orders and tax exempt forms as requested Importing of files into accounting software for payables/vendors Accounts Receivable Recording of all forms of revenue - cash, check, credit card or EFT. Including payments received on account for receivables Billing, client record maintenance and processing repayment for advances, immigration invoices, other Billing, processing payments, assessing late and processing fees for Skelly Nursing Loan Program Maintenance of student emergency loan program Importing of files into accounting software for various receipts Other Entering of journal entries and overdrawn account review Respond to emails and phone calls, in charge of foundation office email Backup for Accounting Services Assistant Requirements: Associate's degree in business, accounting or related disciplines is required 3 to 5 years of cash handling duties and customer service experience is preferred Must be able to interact successfully with various campus constituencies Preferred Experience with Blackbaud's Financial Edge or other accounting software will be considered beneficial Exceptional attention to detail. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure efficiency. Excellent problem-solving skills, and great interpersonal and communications skills Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Additional Information: Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 annual, full-time position.
