Whether aviation has always been on your radar or you're discovering it for the first time, we'd love to hear from you!Overview and Objectives of the PositionThe Training Supervisor for the Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) program is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all maintenance training programs within Skyborne Airline Academy. This role ensures that A&P technicians and staff are trained in accordance with FAA regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards, and company procedures.The Training Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining compliance, enhancing technical competency, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous learning.Key RelationshipsHead of Maintenance (Skyborne Airline Academy Part 145 Repair Station)Quality Assurance ManagerA&P MechanicsRegulatory body - FAAKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesRegulatory ComplianceEnsure all trainees meet baseline competency requirements before performing maintenance tasksEnsure all training programs comply with FAA regulations (Part 147, Part 141)Develop and administer recurrent and refresher training programsStay current on regulatory changes and integrate updates into training curriculumPrepare for and support FAA audits and inspectionsMaintain accurate documentation for compliance and certification purposesResponsibilitiesTrain A&P Mechanics and new hires on the proper use of:Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM)Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC)Structural Repair Manuals (SRM)Wiring Diagrams and Service BulletinsEnsure strict adherence to manufacturer instructions and approved dataConduct hands-on and classroom instruction covering real-world maintenance scenariosPromote best practices in troubleshooting, inspections, and repairsPromote a strong safety culture aligned with SMS (Safety Management System) principlesEnsure all training emphasizes human factors, error prevention, and risk managementSupport quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement effortsInvestigate training gaps related to maintenance errors or incidentsQualifications, Experience and Personal QualitiesMust hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (A&P).Educational certification is preferredNo history of A&P license suspensions or FAA disciplinary actions.Ability to function effectively in a high-paced training environment.Ability to adapt to changing training needs.Fluency in English. Record KeepingTraining DocumentationCompliance with repair station manuals ExperienceMinimum 5-7 years in aviation maintenance - preferably in an MRO or Part 145 Repair Station management position.Strong background in FAA regulatory compliance and knowledge.Proven leadership experience managing teams in a training or operational environment.Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance documentationPreferred SkillsCommitment to high-quality instruction and positive client experience.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly.High level of communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with regulators, airline partners, and students.Proficiency in LMS systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
