The Unlicensed Social Worker/Counselor/Mental Health Clinician provides counseling to patient's in a variety of settings including medical facilities, hospitals, clinics, learning centers and other organizations that are in need of assistance. Minimum Requirements: Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contract requirements The Counselor may possess an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or other Human Development MajorCurrent CPR if applicable TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Position Details Minimum Experience and Certification Required: - ACSW or AMFT CA BBS #- 1+ year of experience outside of externship Modality: Unlicensed SW / Counselor Openings: 2 Shifts: Days. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Shift Days: Weekdays Hours per Week: 40 Contract Length: 13 Week(s) Start Date: 04/27/2026 Details of Assignment: The Assist Team team consists of case managers, clinicians and management who provide mental health treatment services and support services to adult mentally ill offenders who have co-occurring disorders (a primary diagnosis of mental illness and a secondary substance abuse disorder). AOT is outpatient mental health services intended for adults who are suffering from serious mental illness, yet are reluctant to accept the treatment they clearly need. First and foremost, Assist employs a client-centered approach to outreach and engagement in the hope of gaining their voluntary acceptance of mental health services, however, there is the potential for court-ordered treatment when circumstances warrant. It is the goal of the Assist program to promote wellness and recovery in the least restrictive environment and reduce the cycle of hospitalizations and incarcerations that commonly are associated with a reluctance to accept mental health treatment.
