This role is responsible for helping maximize sales and profitability while maintaining exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and compliance with company policies and all applicable labor, state, and federal regulations.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, manages multiple priorities, and demonstrates strong attention to detail. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including health and safety standards, and labor lawsProvide real-time coaching, direction, and feedbackSupport store goals for sales, speed of service, and customer satisfactionMake operational decisions in the Store Manager's absenceCustomer ServiceSet the standard for friendly, professional customer serviceEnsure accurate and timely fulfillment of in-store and online ordersAssist during peak periods and near closing timesAddress customer questions, concerns, and complaints promptlyProduct, Inventory & Food QualityOrder, receive, and track inventory; maintain proper stock levelsConduct quality checks, product rotation, and waste reductionEnsure all food is prepared according to recipe, portion, and food safety standardsOversee early production and freshness of bagels, spreads, coffee, and hot itemsCash Handling & Asset ManagementPerform daily sales audits and cash drawer countsComplete end-of-day reports and bank depositsAudit petty cash and change fundsManage gift and reward card programsStore Opening & ClosingOpen the store on time and prepare for early-morning customersPerform safety, security, and equipment checksComplete opening and closing checklists and required logsRestock supplies, review inventory needs, and secure the premisesSafety, Cleanliness & ComplianceMaintain store standards to achieve an "A" Health Department ratingEnsure cleanliness of work areas, equipment, restrooms, and common areasMonitor maintenance needs and safe work practicesEnsure proper sales tax collection and timely incident reportingPhysical RequirementsStand and walk up to 8 hours per shiftBend, squat, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs regularlyLift up to 50 lbs with assistanceSafely handle knives, slicing equipment, ovens, toasters, and hot liquidsQualificationsSkills & AbilitiesStrong leadership, organization, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent customer service and sales skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced environmentEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Experience3+ years of customer service experience (preferred)At least 1 year of shift leader or supervisory experience (highly desirable)Food service or retail management experience preferred
