Medical Billing/Prior Authorization Specialist

Job Type: Full-time Pay: starting $18/ph Schedule: Mon-Friday, no nights or weekends Shift: General 8/hr shift To aid in our rapid growth and continue to differentiate our patient experience, we're hiring a Prior Authorization Specialist. Specialists are responsible for tasks related to ensure the organizations has a way to obtain authorization for medical procedures and select therapy medications. This role reports to the Manager of Revenue Cycle Some of the Responsibilities * Obtain prior authorization for specialty procedures such as EM, EGD Botox, Barrx, CT/US Guided biopsies, Paracentesis and Capsule Endoscopies. * Schedule, review and mail instructions and medications needed for specialty procedures. * Prepare orders for CT/US Guided Biopsies, Paracentesis, Pelvic Floor Therapy, Speech Therapy, Therapeutic Phlebotomy, Blood Transfusion and fax to facility. * Arrange and perform teachings for fecal transplant patients. * Arrange and seek prior-authorization for Home Care. What we are looking for * Strong knowledge of medical terminology * Demonstrated computer skills for documenting patient care in an electronic medical record * Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing * Ability to work independently and as a team * Ability to read and comprehend patient medical charts, medical terminology, prescription medications, and physician messages Qualifications * High School Diploma/GED. * Graduate of a Medical Billing training program. * 2+ years or recent experience in high volume medical billing with relevant experience in AR-follow-up. * Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding. * Demonstrate computer skills as evidenced by proficiency and/or training with applicable software. * Problem solving, time management and exceptional interpersonal skills. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
