Commercial Driver

Ukiah Waste Solutions, Inc., a Waste Connections company, is excited to announce an immediate opening for a Commercial Driver to join our team for local routes! Our drivers work on a Monday - Friday schedule with a 4 AM start time. Expect 8 to 10 hour workdays, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Starting pay is competitive at $25.50 per hour, with a pay range of $25.50-$27 per hour depending on your experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned routes. Accurately read route sheets and service each customer as assigned by the dispatcher. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids and safety equipment. Perform physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading cargo, often without assistance. Engage courteously with customers and perform other job-related duties as needed. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: This role involves extensive physical activity, requiring heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds. Be prepared for exposure to physical risks, including moving mechanical parts, by following basic safety precautions. Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including wet and/or humid environments, and may encounter fumes and vibration. Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Valid Class A or B CDL. Clean driving record. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
