Job SummaryThe Head Lifeguard/Swim Instructor provides supervision, leadership and ensures safety while delivering exceptional Member experiences at the pool facility. Maintaining levels of standard with regard to the rules and regulations of The Tuxedo Club is a priority and coordination and communication is crucial for this position. Duties and Responsibilities as Head LifeguardIncluding but not limited to: Supervises lifeguard staff during shifts, manages rotations, and ensures staff are in proper uniform and actively watching the water.Performs daily safety checks, maintains water chemistry, and addresses hazards immediately.Inventories supplies as needed, reports maintenance needs, schedules staff, and elevates Members concerns to managers in a timely fashion.Ensure the appropriate steps are taken to maintain the safety of members and guests.Respond quickly to lead or assist in executing the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) during critical incidents providing first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in danger or distress and administering CPR.Ensure all New York State health and safety standards are met and maintained by following the NYS Health and Safety codes.Complete daily operations form at both opening and closing of every shiftAssist the Pool Director with: Maintain all necessary records required by the state of New York. Maintain all necessary records/forms/sign in sheets required by the ClubMaintain proper balances and record all pool chemicals to meet Health Department requirementsMaintain the cleanliness of the entire aquatics operation including (but not limited to) the cabana, changing rooms, bathrooms, and seating area. Monitor activity in the pool & surrounding area to ensure the safety of Members and guests. Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.Enforce all pool safety rules in a professional manner and maintain a clean & organized area. Assist guests with questions related to pool activities.Assist with pool setup and breakdown as needed. Maintain a proactive mindset with regards to children's entertainment. You may be required to perform other job-related duties assigned by your Supervisor, or Director.Duties and Responsibilities as Swim Instructor Schedule all swimming lessons with appropriate staff.Teach water safety, swimming strokes, skills and techniques to various ages & abilities in group or private lessons. Evaluate for progress & provide constructive feedback. Qualifications Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED requiredCurrent WSI Certification, recommendedPrior teaching experience preferred (swim lessons)Must be outgoing, energetic, hands-on with attention to detailMust be able to enforce rules and regulations in a professional mannerPositive attitude and excellent communication skillsMust be able to stand for long periods of time & ability to work independentlyMust be able to work varied shifts which include weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays Compensation and Benefits Competitive Hourly PayEligible for Holiday BonusEmployee Meals Working ConditionsAs a Lifeguard you may be in a full time or part time hourly position.
