School Psychologist

Duties District psychologist. 3 buildings with 1,000 students. Apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. By providing assessment, support, and intervention services to students; partner with families, teachers, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments; and collaborate with community providers to coordinate services for students. * Assists in screening school enrollments to aid in identifying children who should be referred for initial evaluation and eligibility determination for special education. * Provides an individual psychological examination, interprets findings, and makes recommendations. * Provides written reports containing findings and recommendations gained from a psychological evaluation. * Assists in facilitating the special education eligibility/IEP process. * Conducts Functional Behavioral Assessments and supports the development of Behavior Intervention Plans as applicable. * Provides consultative services to teachers and other school personnel in the planning of programs and services for students. * Consults with parents regarding their child's needs and assists in the development of the parents' understanding. * Functions as a resource in providing information regarding special education law and regulations. Qualifications Illinois Professional Educators License with School Psychologist endorsement Salary/Benefits To be negotiated with the successful candidate.
