Field Safety, Advisor At Southern California Edison (SCE) you will provide safety leadership and subject"‘matter expertise to support front"‘line operations by influencing safety culture, guiding risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with safety policies, procedures, and industry standards. Through strong partnerships, coaching, and data"‘informed insights, the position drives accountability, continuous improvement, and injury prevention across the organization. Responsibilities Provides guidance and influence for the organization's safety programs, policies, and procedures; utilizes past experience in craft activities related to the design, construction and maintenance of the electric utility system to support safety functions. Builds and maintains effective working relationships to influence safety culture improvement; acts as the safety conscience of the company supporting front"‘line leaders and employees and has understanding of operational needs. Collaborates and aligns with front"‘line leaders to identify and mitigate risks that can lead to injuries, serious injuries and fatalities; holds leaders and employees accountable for meeting the goal of an injury"‘free workplace. Coaches leaders and employees on safety, reinforcing desired behaviors by deepening their knowledge of work processes and guiding them in methods that reduce risk. Leads by coaching on safety and provides guidance to address unsafe behaviors; facilitates the resolution of safety issues and concerns by working with leaders and employees. Implements the Safety Support Plan, serves as subject"‘matter expert on work activities and safety"‘related initiatives, and provides customer service to influence, facilitate and align with OU partners. Supports Safety Teams, Safety Congresses, OU Partner Staff Meetings, Cause Evaluations, and Policy and Procedure changes that contribute to defining the direction for new processes, standards or safety action plans with an impact on organizational results. Guides leaders and employee inquiries & informs decisions based on safety rules, policies, and industry standards; identifies problems and solutions that may need to be escalated. Reviews OU partners' safety data, observation outcomes, corrective actions, and validates operational compliance by applying technical expertise and having foundational knowledge of other related disciplines. Develops relationships to meet commitments and achieve results; collaborates with leaders and employees to align efforts, integrate work, and exercises judgment to advise and recommend courses of action. Ensures protection of all physical, financial, cybersecurity assets, and private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Seven or more years of experience in electrical utility craft, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems. Possess a valid Class C driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental, Engineering, Business, Safety, or related field, or a combination of education and Electrical Utility Craft Apprenticeship Training completion and/or work experience. Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP). Additional Information This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in the state of California unless otherwise noted. Work mode details will be discussed at interview. The primary work location for this position is San Joaquin Region in California. Position will require up to 90% traveling and working out in the field throughout the San Joaquin Region and/or other assigned locations. This position is a NERC/CIP impacted position - prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or background investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un"‘escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
