Plant Manager

Horizon Nut LLC is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our Tulare facility, specializing in pistachio processing. This role is responsible for overall plant performance, including production, warehouse, maintenance, sanitation, and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure food safety compliance, and build high-performing teams.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all plant functions: production (raw & RTE), warehousing, shipping, sanitation, and maintenanceAlign operations with company goals for safety, quality, service, and costLead, coach, and develop supervisors and managersManage KPIs including throughput, yield, labor efficiency, and on-time deliveryDrive Lean initiatives and process optimization Ensure compliance with FSMA, FDA, CDPH, and BRCGS standardsOversee warehouse, inventory, and shipping operationsEnsure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance programsChampion a safety-first culture (OSHA compliance)Partner with HR on hiring, training, and employee engagementQualificationsBachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field7-10+ years in food manufacturing or agricultural processing3-5+ years of leadership experience managing multiple departmentsExperience in BRCGS or GFSI-certified environments requiredPreferred CertificationsHACCPPCQIFumigation LicenseSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team-building abilitiesDeep knowledge of food safety and regulatory complianceProven ability to manage KPIs and improve operational performanceExperience with ERP/WMS systemsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsBilingual (Spanish) preferredWork EnvironmentFast-paced manufacturing environment with indoor/outdoor exposure, machinery, noise, and seasonal production demands.Pay Range Starting pay is $135K+
