Job Description:
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Aircraft Component Technician in Trumbull, CT for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This is a safety-sensitive position supporting aircraft component repair and overhaul work. You will disassemble, clean, evaluate, repair, modify, and assemble aircraft components in accordance with approved data while complying with FAA/CAA/EASA regulations and EH&S requirements. Required Skills High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to work independently with limited supervision Experience using precision measuring instruments and gauges (feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers) Ability to repair detail components by filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing Ability to use power and hand tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting Ability to write clear, concise evaluation results and communicate repair requirements Ability to follow procedures in component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, ORI's, OREI's, drawings, and check sheets Competency using torque wrenches and understanding SAC torque specification SS9300 Ability to chemically treat repaired surfaces in accordance with approved data Ability to review and interpret paperwork to ensure proper part identification and operational sequence, and document required information Ability to drill, ream, tap, change studs, install Heli coils, and install bushings/liners by shrink fitting and arbor press Willingness to be included in an FAA-approved Drug and Alcohol screening program Preferred Skills Automotive trade school F irframe license What You'll Do Disassemble, clean, evaluate, repair, modify, and assemble aircraft components in accordance with approved data Use precision measuring tools to evaluate components and verify requirements Perform component repairs including filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing Use power/hand tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting tasks Document evaluation results and communicate repair requirements for in-house work or outside processing Follow approved procedures and regulatory requirements (FAA, CAA, EASA) and adhere to EH&S and company policies Interpret maintenance documentation and related paperwork to ensure correct identification, sequence, and records Perform mechanical operations including drilling, reaming, tapping, stud replacement, Heli coil installation, and bushing/liner installation Job ID: 20425 "Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
