Job DutiesOverviewWe are seeking a skilled Marine Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a very large marine forklift to efficiently handle watercraft in a marina environment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols and procedures. Prior warehouse experience, mechanical and maintenance knowledge of watercraft, and familiarity with OSHA standards are highly valued. The Marine Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow and precision with customer's watercraft. This will be a seasonal (mid April through mid October) employment opportunity.Responsibilities• Safely operate marine forklift truck, skid steer, and any other groundskeeping equipment.• Handle watercraft with precision, including stacking, organizing, and moving items within the warehouse/watercraft environment.• Conduct routine inspections of watercraft and equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning in compliance with OSHA standards.• Maintain accurate watercraft records and document all movements using appropriate tracking systems, such as iPads and Speedydock.• Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during heavy equipment operation.• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and operational efficiency.• Assist in fueling customer's watercraft and dock assistance.• Assist in maintenance/repair and winterization of watercraft.• Assist in groundskeeping, such as mowing, trimming, basic maintenance, etc.Skills• Experience operating marine forklift, skid steer and other equipment in a warehouse and marina setting is a plus, but will train the right individual. (Employees will be required to complete a marine forklift training/certification course, provided by Shamrock.)• Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse operations and heavy machinery use.• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines.• Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
