Entry-Level Civil Estimator

Job Description An award-winning Civil Contractor is seeking an Estimator to join their growing team. As an Estimator, you will be vital in reviewing project plans and specifications, preparing quantity takeoffs, and pricing various project aspects. Your responsibilities will include estimating overhead components, conducting unit pricing across multiple trade disciplines, and performing system trade-off comparisons. Utilize your industry experience to develop cost estimates that reflect local market and project conditions. Estimator Responsibilities: Review project plans and specifications, prepare quantity takeoffs, and accurately price every aspect of projects. Manage, organize, and actively participate in the overall bid and proposal process. Read, quantify, and analyze construction documents across all trade disciplines. Estimate overhead components effectively. Utilize various system unit pricing across different trade disciplines, drawing from current and historical market data. Conduct comprehensive system trade-off comparisons on a macro scale, including structural systems, mechanical systems, and foundations. Execute conceptual estimates with limited design detail in a timely manner while understanding the appropriate level of detail for each stakeholder. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Familiarity with estimation software such as Agtek Gradework, AutoCAD, HCSS HeavyBid, and Bluebeam Revu. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and the latest industry standards.
