Quality.If you're inspired by purpose, driven by impact, and ready to help save and heal lives, LifeLink is the place for you.What You'll DoAs a Recovery Services Specialist/Training Supervisor, you will directly contribute to LifeLink's life-saving mission.Primary responsibility is to work within established LifeLink Foundation, OPO, and regulating agency policies and protocols to direct the resources available to bring about a successful recovery of organs and tissues for transplantation and research. This position performs all of the functions of a Recovery Services Specialist and would be responsible for the training of new staff and ongoing competency evaluation and training for current staff members under the direction of the Manager/ Assistant Manager/ of Recovery Services.This position maintains an ongoing open line of communication with Manager/Assistant Manager and Director of Recovery Services, Administrator on Call, and the OPO Director(s), as appropriate. In addition, this position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, strategies, and action plans related to the procurement and utilization of organs and tissue.Key Responsibilities:Actively participates in the call schedule and responds to all potential organ donors appropriately.Responsible for all aspects of donor evaluation and management including review of medical and social history; assessment of hemodynamic stability and implementation of strategies to maintain and/or improve specific organ function.Creates a positive learning environment for coworkers through effective communication and exhibits strong leadership skills.Possesses knowledge of medical and legal principles of donor evaluation, consent, management, and allocation to serve as a resource and mentor to newer coordinators.Demonstrates working knowledge and competence with organ recovery policies and procedures as well as those of the Foundation policies. Adheres to the standards of practice for quality assurance procedures established within the organization.Participates in the development, implementation and training on policies and procedures relating to donor identification, management, organ recovery, and allocation.Works closely with the Medical Director and Administrator on Call on issues pertaining to clinical and technical aspects of quality organ donor evaluation, management and organ allocation when training a new coordinator or serving as a resource for a less experienced cTrain, supervise and evaluate the daily activities of trainee staff in the application of donor criteria, suitability and physical evaluation, to include the issues of authorization, hospital-specific dynamics, transportation, OR scheduling, autopsy requirements, and other aspects of the organ/tissue recovery process, documentation, and follow-up, meeting documentation deadlines.Assist Manager with any personnel related issues or situations that apply to trainee staff.Assist Manager in the implementation of approved protocol modifications, training and monitoring trainee staff performance and compliance.Inspect, maintain, and monitor equipment, supplies, and instrumentation being used for procurement, evaluating need for upgrades and making recommendations to Manager.Organize/conduct on site competency evaluation to increase and maintain the expertise of all Organ Recovery Coordinators and establish consistency of practice as directed by the Manager of Recovery Services.Participates in weekly conference calls/meetings to review clinical management of each donor as appropriate.Works on special assignments and projects as directed by Manager and Director of Recovery Services or Executive Director.Who You ArePassionate about helping others and making a differenceAligned with LifeLink's core values of Compassion, Excellence, Legacy, People, and QualityApplicant must be a RN, PA, or equivalent with appropriate clinical experience.Demonstrates advanced knowledge as a transplant coordinator.Advanced technical, organizational, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.Ability to deal with a high-stress level resulting from the emotionally and physically draining nature of the work.CPTC certification.Will be able to tolerate the physical workload associated with 24-hour call shifts and to stand at bedside for long periods of time.Proven good driving record and current driver's license.A collaborator who thrives in a mission-first environmentWorking Conditions:Most of daily activity spent in contact with hospitals, hospital personnel, and prospective donor family members. Daily air/ground travel required. Periodic high stress level.
