At Metro, people are our greatest asset "” and we invest in those ready to grow and lead.About the RoleMetro Development Group is looking for a (full-time, in-office) Head of AI & Systems Architecture to lead the design, development, and deployment of an integrated technology platform that connects every function of the company. This is the first dedicated technology leadership role in the company's history.You will own the full technology stack: a central database that unifies financial and operational data across 35+ active communities, an AI-powered document management and classification system, role-based dashboards for executive leadership, AI assistants for every employee, and the integrations that tie our ERP, document platform, and communication tools into one data layer.This is a hands-on, in-person role in our Tampa, FL office. You will architect systems, write code, build data pipelines, and deploy AI solutions alongside a small team. We ship working software in two-week sprints, not slide decks in quarterly reviews.Key Responsibilities• Design and build the central database that serves as the single source of truth for budgets, commitments, actuals, schedules, and lot inventory across all communities• Develop and deploy an AI-powered document classification system that automatically reads, tags, and files incoming documents using the company's cost code structure• Build automated data pipelines that pull financial actuals from the ERP and merge them with budget and commitment data in real time• Design and deliver role-based dashboards that surface community health, financial variances, and operational risks to leadership• Deploy AI assistants (using large language model APIs) that allow employees to query company data in plain English, scoped to their role and permissions• Architect the security model: role-based access control, data governance, and permission structures across all systems• Evaluate, select, and integrate third-party tools where appropriate (document platforms, lot tracking, task management)• Manage and direct outside consultants for specialized work such as security audits or niche integrations• Establish and maintain a consistent development cadence with regular releases and measurable progressYour TeamYou will manage a small, focused team:• ERP Developer (full-time, in-office) "” Owns Acumatica Construction Editionconfiguration, customization, and the API layer that connects the ERP to the central database. Reports directly to you.• AI Implementor (full-time, entry-level) "” Supports employee AI adoption, manages small AI projects, and trains staff on day-to-day tool usage.
