Act as the primary assistant to Project Engineer and project expert about all activities required to have the project constructed according to the plans, contract, and specifications set forth by DOTD in a timely manner. Must be self-motivated and able to perform duties many times with minimal or no supervision and able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise.Minimum QualificationsPossession of a high school diploma or GED plus four years of sub-professional engineering experience, one year of which must have been in a position equivalent or higher in scope of responsibility and/or complexity of work performed to an Engineering Technician 4 in state service plus two years of experience in architecture, construction management, engineering or project management for transportation/public works structures; ORA current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate issued by the Project Management Institute; ORA bachelor's degree in an architecture, construction, industrial or engineering field plus two years of experience in architecture, construction management, engineering or project management for transportation/public works structures.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundhere.Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties: On assigned projects, incumbent will advise the Project Engineer and Engineering Technician 7 to coordinate project activities, setting priorities, directing the work of the engineering technicians and other related personnel, ensuring compliance with the contract, plans, specifications, etc. Assists the project Engineer in all activities of the construction office as well as the supervision or performance of work involving the maintenance, construction, or repair of transportation and public work structures. Will be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
