Long Term Care / Retail Pharmacy in Tacoma seeking a full time pharmacist in the Parkland/Lakewood area.Summary: This position's duties include providing pharmacy services in the Long Term care (LTC) and retail areas of our pharmacy. The pharmacist will be responsible for verification and provision of accurate, timely dispensing and preparation of medications. We service a number of assisted living and other healthcare facilities and provide weekly compliance packaging tailored to their needs. Korean patients are a large proportion of the retail side, and Korean language experience can be useful, but not necessary.Anticipated shift: Usual schedule will be 5 days on during the weekday and every other Saturday on a rotating basis (we are closed Sundays). Schedule will be approximately 40 hours/week plus on-call service (weekends-Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating basis as neededCompensation: Competitive salary and benefits depending on experienceRequirements:Current Washington State Pharmacist License in good standingPharmacy graduate of an accredited college: PharmD or RphDrivers license and reliable transportationComply with all laws applicable to practice siteUnderstands pharmacist role and function within legal scope of practice- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and internal staffAbility to think quickly to resolve issues efficiently and ability to make proper decisionsMust be flexible in work schedule as neededMust be organized and work efficiently/accurately while being able to handle frequent interruptionsExcellent communication skills, work ethic, and characterExcellent verification accuracy, attention to detail, and math skillsAbility to work independently and provide excellent customer serviceAbility to work with a culturally diverse patient populationAdequate computer skills -- windows operating system & Microsoft Word. Experience with RX30 a plus, though not requiredResponsibilities (include, but not limited to):Verify the accuracy of all prescriptions leaving the pharmacyKnow and follow State and Federal rules and lawsMake clinical decisions for the pharmacyMake clinical recommendations to customers and health care providersKnow and follow company policies and proceduresKnow and follow laws relevant to compliance packaging and services to Long-Term-Care facilities. Educate caregivers on compliance to rules and laws applicable to LTC facilitiesStay current in professional obligations and education. Maintain current licensureAssist in managing pharmacy when the Pharmacist in Charge(PIC) is not presentAssist in supervising pharmacy technicians and assistantsAdminister immunizations and other injections in pharmacy or on-site at assisted living facility or homes.
