DispatcherSchedule: Monday-Friday | Day ShiftEmployment Type: Direct HirePay Range: $63,000 - $75,000 (based on experience)About the RoleOur client, a leading provider in the modular building and storage solutions industry, is seeking a Dispatcher to manage logistics coordination and support branch operations within an assigned territory.This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of scheduling, transportation planning, and office coordination. The Dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency by determining the most effective transportation methods (in-house vs. third-party vendors) for delivery, service, relocation, and removal of units.This position directly impacts performance metrics such as delivery timelines, customer experience, and team productivity. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong decision-making skills, and maintains a high level of professionalism and communication.Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental, Health & SafetyEnsure compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policiesConduct safety meetings and maintain safety logs and documentationPromote a safe work environment through training, observations, and regular assessmentsDispatch & Logistics CoordinationManage all scheduling for deliveries, returns, installations, service calls, removals, and relocationsDetermine the most cost-effective and efficient transportation methods (internal fleet vs. vendors)Assign drivers, field technicians, and crews to meet 100% on-time delivery goalsReview and plan daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch schedulesCoordinate complex installations and removals with employees and third-party vendorsCreate and manage purchase orders for transport vendorsArrange permits, escorts, and pilot vehicles when requiredTrack deliveries and driver activity using digital systems to ensure on-time performanceCommunicate proactively with customers, drivers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updatesConfirm site readiness, access, and permitting prior to deliveryFleet & Operational SupportMonitor driver logs, DVIR reports, and preventative maintenance recordsEnsure proper documentation and signatures are collected for deliveries and pickupsTrack and document damages upon unit returnMaintain accurate records and ensure all paperwork is completed and filedAdjust schedules and routes as needed to accommodate changes or urgent requestsSupervisory & Team CoordinationProvide direction and oversight to drivers, field service technicians, setup crews, and support staffAssign daily tasks and manage workloads for employees, contractors, and temporary staffSupport performance management, coaching, and training initiativesEnsure DOT compliance within the assigned territoryAdministrative ResponsibilitiesSupport branch operations including timekeeping, payroll coordination, accounts payable/receivable, and purchase ordersMaintain office procedures, documentation, and reportingServe as a point of contact for internal and external communicationsAssist with general office duties such as filing, reception, and coordinationRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)2+ years of relevant work experience (dispatch, logistics, or administrative support)2+ years of leadership experience or team coordination preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong customer service and communication skills (phone and email)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal teamsPreferred Qualifications Worked with Government contracts3+ years of logistics or dispatch experienceExperience with scheduling, route planning, and optimizationFamiliarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)Knowledge of DOT compliance, Hours of Service, ELDs, and permittingExperience working with third-party vendors, including pricing and scheduling coordinationKey AttributesStrong leadership and accountabilityReliable and detail-orientedCustomer-focused with excellent communication skillsAbility to think critically and make decisions under pressureTeam-oriented with a collaborative mindset
