OVERVIEWOversee the operations, employee management, parent relations, and administrative processes required to operate a highly successful educational child care center.REPORTS TONY State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and the Executive Director of Parent OrganizationQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.Experience in an Early Childhood Education setting for 5 years, at least 1 year of supervisory experience, and demonstration of strong leadership skills.Passion for the developmentally appropriate education of children and the early childhood education profession. Ability to work with children, families, and staff from a wide range of economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong analytic skills to assess problems and innovative mindset to create effective solutions.Certifications in CPR/First Aid and Medication Administration Training (MAT).RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure adherence to the Childcare Regulations mandated by OCFS and oversee completion of the required records and paperwork.Ensure Procedures, Policies, and Philosophy are followed and evaluate and rewrite as necessary. Integrate respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion into all facets of the organization. Model appropriate interactions and behavior, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Establish a positive relationship with the children, families, and staff to effectively foster a community dedicated to the development and well-being of the children. Treat children, families, and staff with respect and dignity. Be mindful of each person's abilities and differences, and their cultural and socioeconomic background. Responsible for the overall well-being and safety of the children. Adjust to meet their individual concerns, interests, needs, talents, and individual style and pace of learning. Oversee the hiring, onboarding, coaching, support, discipline, and termination of staff. Provide constructive feedback as needed, and conduct annual performance evaluations.Develop and lead Staff Meetings, and organize In-Service Training. Ensure all staff complete 15 hours of professional development annually, including the Director.Manage finances by creating and maintaining a budget and overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Oversee fundraising and grant efforts. Oversee enrollment and registration, classroom placements, and maintenance of the waiting list. Give tours of the center to prospective families and facilitate orientation of new families. Attend Bi-Monthly Directors Meetings through Child Care Solutions and quarterly UPK Agency Director meetings.Act as liaison to PreK Coordinator and UPK teachers to relay UPK information.Willingly perform a multitude of tasks necessary for the effective operation of the center.
