Job Description:
With dual reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Nursing Officer, the ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES is a member of the Hospital's Leadership Team with responsibility for assuring provisions of effective, high quality patient care within the Behavioral Health service line (inpatient and outpatient). The ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES develops and maintains an environment that supports excellence in clinical nursing practice and is accountable for managing human, fiscal and other resources to assure quality and effective patient care. RESPONSIBILITIES:24-hour responsibility for the overall nursing management of the department/unitDevelops, utilizes, and manages an appropriate number of qualified staff to provide competent, compassionate, efficient, and professional care in both the inpatient and outpatient settingsRecommends and implements changes necessary for a positive work environmentWorking with leadership, develops and implements the mission, objectives, policies and standards for nursing care within Behavioral Health ServicesEnsures that nursing practice goals meet changes within the healthcare environmentEnsures appropriate staffing meeting the requirements of Title 22Forecasts short and long-term goals relative to the Behavioral Health systems and operations to ensure consistency with Pacifica Hospital of the Valley's overall strategic planWorks with senior leadership team in developing programs to strengthen behavioral health services to the community.EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Current CA RN LicenseCurrent BLSDemonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the psychiatric needs of patients served with knowledge of principles of LPS guidelinesAbility to assess and interpret data in order to identify patient needs and provide the appropriate care, including level of psychiatric care, needed for adult and teen patient populationThree (3) years of experience in Behavioral Health nursing with one (1) year in a management/leadership roleWorking knowledge of CA Nursing Regulations (Title 22, DMH, TJC, etc.)Strong problem-solving skillsAbility to exercise professional judgment in performing day-to-day activities, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and proceduresExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to meet multiple deadlines in a stressful environment
