Job Description:
RMYC OHV Trail Crew Member Serves as a member of the Blanco Ranger District's Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Trail Crew that is responsible for managing and maintaining over 500 miles of public motorized routes and trails on the Blanco Ranger District, a portion of the Rifle Ranger District, and parts of the Wagon Wheel OHV Trail System. Members are expected to serve 80 hours within the two week pay period, ten-hour service days are the norm. Generally, you will serve four 10-hour days over a week. Members may have 8-day hitches during their service and may serve over the weekend. Schedule determined by the host site Further help on this page can be found by clicking here. Member Duties : Operate Utility Terrain vehicles (UTVs) on a daily basis to access motorized trails. Maintain trail corridors and trailheads with a variety of hand and motorized tools such as chainsaws, hand saws, pick mattocks, and shovels. Install, inventory, and maintain signage, gates, width restrictors, and fencing to implement Travel Management decisions and guide visitor use. Assist in inventorying and closing and/or rehabilitating illegal trails. Assist traildozer operator as a swamper when reconstructing or rerouting sections of trail. Provide public information on Forest Service regulations and recreational opportunities, including educating OHV users on potential resource damage caused by illegal use.
