Chief Executive OfficerEden II ProgramsLocation: Staten Island, NY (with oversight of Long Island operations)Organization Type: 501(c)(3) Non-ProfitReports To: Board of TrusteesThe OpportunityThe Chief Executive Officer of Eden II School provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for a multi-service organization with an annual budget of approximately $45 million. For over four decades, Eden II has been a leader in providing high-quality, lifespan services for individuals with autism, including preschool and school programs, adult services, residential supports, and professional training.Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for advancing the organization's mission, ensuring program excellence, maintaining financial sustainability, and positioning Eden II as a leader in the field of autism services. The CEO oversees all aspects of organizationalperformance, fosters a strong leadership culture, and serves as the primary ambassador to stakeholders, funders, and the broader community.Key ResponsibilitiesOrganizational & Operational OversightProvide executive oversight of all organizational programs, including preschool, school-age education, adult services, residential programs, and training initiativesEnsure the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services that meet or exceed regulatory and accreditation standardsOversee organizational systems, infrastructure, and performance managementEnsure effective risk management practices and operational integrity across all divisionsFinancial StewardshipIn collaboration with the Executive team, oversee the development and management of the organization's annual budgetEnsure long-term financial health, sustainability, and growthSupervise financial planning, forecasting, and reporting in partnership with the Chief Financial OfficerMonitor revenue streams, including government funding, tuition, philanthropy, and grantsEnsure sound fiscal management, internal controls, and transparencyBoard Relations & GovernanceServe as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, fostering a strong and collaborative partnershipSupport the Board in fulfilling its governance responsibilities, including strategic planning, policy development, and oversightProvide timely, accurate, and transparent reporting on organizational performanceEngage and support Board members in advancing the mission and strategic prioritiesLeadership & Talent DevelopmentRecruit, develop, and retain a high-performing senior leadership teamFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and mission-driven excellenceOversee organizational workforce strategy, including recruitment, retention, and professional development in a competitive labor environmentEnsure effective succession planning and leadership continuityExternal Relations, Advocacy & Community EngagementServe as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organizationBuild and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, funders, donors, families, and community partnersAdvocate at the local, state, and national levels for policies and resources that support individuals with autism and developmental disabilitiesRepresent the organization at conferences, public forums, and professional networksFundraising & DevelopmentPartner with the Development team and Board to advance a comprehensive fundraising strategyCultivate and steward major donors, foundations, and corporate partnersSupport capital campaigns, special events, and grant initiativesLeverage relationships to expand philanthropic support and community investmentProgram Innovation & Field LeadershipPromote the use of evidence-based and person-centered practices across all servicesAdvance training and professional development initiatives that strengthen the fieldIdentify emerging trends and opportunities in autism services and position the organization at the forefront of innovationSupport partnerships with research, academic, and professional organizationsCompliance & EthicsEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as licensing and accreditation requirementsUphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and transparencyPromote a culture of accountability and continuous quality improvementQualificationsAdvanced degree in education, psychology, public administration, social work, or a related field (doctoral degree preferred)Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, including senior executive rolesDemonstrated success managing complex, multi-program human services organizationsSignificant experience overseeing large budgets and navigating regulatory environmentsDeep experience in autism services or developmental disabilities as well as applied behavior analysis strongly preferredCore CompetenciesVisionary and strategic leadershipStrong operational and organizational management skillsFinancial acumen and resource stewardshipExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to build and sustain strong relationships across diverse stakeholdersSkilled in advocacy, public speaking, and external representationProven ability to lead through growth, change, and complexityReporting StructureReports to: Board of DirectorsDirect Reports: Senior Leadership Team, including (but not limited to) Deputy ExecutiveDirector, Associate Executive Directors, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of DevelopmentWhy Lead Eden II?You'll be heading an organization that doesn't just provide "care""”it provides breakthroughs.
