PT Operations Analytics Specialist (Hartford)

Job Description GENERAL FUNCTION: Assistants CTtransit's Manager of Technology Systems and Analytics in operations analysis tracking, reporting, and technical support to advance service delivery by reaching established goals and meeting performance expectations set forth by the Director of Operations Technology. Examples of Duties * Monitor and evaluate real-time CAD/AVL system data. * Design and Disseminate Automated reports based on data collection and analysis for implementation across CTtransit. Collect and monitor CAD/AVL system data issues and identify opportunities for improvement. * Identify and communicate trends and operational issues. * Creating and maintaining BI reports and dashboards. * Provide training and support on CAD/AVL, Business Intelligence, TransitMaster, OPS and other system data-related tools. * Develop, complete, and provide reports on various areas related to key performance indicators, operations, and system performance. * Produce comprehensive reports, including service reliability, strategic initiative reports and other reports in a timely manner. * Translates, interprets, analyses data impacting key performance indicators and communicating findings to key stakeholders.? * Monitoring, evaluating, and supporting projects related to CAD/AVL system data to determine CTtransit service compliance.? * Assists in developing and providing system data reports.? * Providing training and support to different departments on system data usage. * Coordinating work activities with transit operations personnel for field and electronic data collection and data integrity. * Assists with special events and special services.? * Assists in maintaining department databases. * Assists other departments and divisions as needed. * Responds to inquiries for information from employees, senior leadership, and/or external partners as needed. * Assists in managing problems and emergencies involving any department or divisions after hours.? * Work cooperatively with all levels of personnel. * Attends in-service training, seminars or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency. ?Provides training for Agency personnel as required. ?Actively participates in staff meetings, trainings, etc. * Has thorough working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements. * Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications * Minimum possession of a bachelor's degree?in business, mathematics, statistics, analytics, information technology or a closely related field, and one (1) year of relevant work experience or recent relevant course work is required. * Knowledge of SQL Data tools and scripting languages (, VBA, Python, R) required. * An equivalent combination of education and work experience on a year-for-year basis can be substituted for the 4-year degree requirement. * Microsoft Power BI or other analytics software/language experience is required. * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required.? * Experience performing intensive data analysis. * Data processing, report automation and, operational systems data analysis. * Knowledge of public transit operations, policies and procedures and regulations strongly preferred. ? * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy required. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to multitask, manage multiple employees, ability to conduct training when necessary is required. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerApps, workflow automation and the ability to quickly learn new software and procedures is expected. * The ability to prioritize projects and to work both independently and in a team environment. * A valid Driver's License is required. May be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
