Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitorial/Building Technician to support cleaning, groundskeeping, and light maintenance at Como by the Lake, a 99-unit affordable senior living community for residents age 55 and older in St. Paul, MN. Located across from Como Lake and just one mile from Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, this community serves seniors in a well-maintained residential setting. The primary focus of this role is to maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept environment for residents. The Building Technician reports directly to the Property Manager. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, completing assigned service requests and performing general cleaning and light maintenance tasks such as: Cleaning interior common areas Preparing and cleaning vacant apartments Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors Cleaning windows Removing interior and exterior debris Basic plumbing repairs (e.g., snaking toilets, minor fixes) Basic electrical tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, outlet covers) Replacing furnace filters Installing blinds Replacing smoke detector batteries Seasonal duties: Light snow removal Salting/sanding walkways Mowing Raking General lawn and landscaping duties Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of professional cleaning experience required, preferably in a residential, multifamily, or similar setting. Basic general maintenance skills and/or experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with sensitivity to differing needs and expectations. Self-motivated, resourceful, and solution-oriented, with strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to high-quality work. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel for extended periods of time. Ability to complete daily tours between properties including but not limited to inspecting grounds, common areas, hallways, stairwell and apartment homes. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to reach above and below the shoulders. Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull. Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather. Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property. Compensation, Schedule, & Location This position pays $20-$22 per hour depending on experience and skillset. In addition, Building Technicians at Aeon have NO On-Call! This full-time position follows a Monday - Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5:30 PM.
