Job SummaryThe Part Time Route Driver is responsible for representing the company while making deliveries and picking up freight.Hours and Wages 7:30AM start time- completion of route2-3 days per week, with 8-10 hour shifts each dayStarting wage: $20.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience Under 21: $19.00- $21.00 per hour, based on experience Duties and Responsibilities Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippersInspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicleLoad the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packagesCollect payments for certain packages deliveredVerify the content of pickups on shipping papersNotify management of any problems or discrepanciesMaintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehiclePerform other related duties as assigned Skills and Abilities Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learnPossess good customer service and can work independently Education and Experience At least 21 years of ageHold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards Physical Requirements Ability to pass a DOT physical examAbility to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicleAbility to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 poundsAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals Benefits 401(k) Plan EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
