Consumer Directions Inc. provides the payroll and administrative support to individuals who are part of various Minnesota Department of Human Services programs with the goal of the participant remaining in their home with the paid assistance of their family members and friends. Our passion is to help families navigate their journey through self-directed services.This is a full-time, in office position in our HR Department at our St. Joesph location. The job will require someone who is compassionate and dedicated to the individuals and families we support. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, service-driven individual who will support the administration of employee benefits, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide frontline HR support to our employees. This role plays a vital part in ensuring employees understand and can access their benefits while helping the organization remain compliant with employment laws and internal policies. As the organization grows, this role can evolve into expanded responsibilities in Benefits, Compliance, Employee Relations, and HR operations.Core Responsibilities:The position will be assigned, but not limited to, the following duties: Assist with enrollment, changes, and terminations for medical, dental, vision, and other benefit plansRespond to employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and claimsSupport annual open enrollment and benefits communicationsSupport compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, COBRA, ACA, I-9, Wage and Hour, and Leave Laws)Attend, in person or virtually, employment seminars, workshops, and trainingsAssist with reporting, audits, and compliance requestsHelp promote a positive, supportive employee experience Required Skills: Strong attention to detail and confidentialityFamiliarity with employment laws and HR compliance requirementsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong organizational and communication skills Ideal candidate should possess: Experience in a managerial roleExcellent customer service and interpersonal skillsExperience with Benefits administrationKnowledge of COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and state leave programs Physical Demands: This position may be completed sitting or standing.This position may infrequently require lifting up to 20 lbs. Travel: This position may require local travel to our second office location or training venue. Education and Experience: High School Diploma Managerial Experience Preferred : Human Resources Certification Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Upon hire, all candidates must pass a state-run background check and complete fingerprinting.Upon hire, candidates will be subject to a driving record check and must possess a valid driver's license.
